The Tannery

An urban tannery built for scale, run like a workshop.

Grainhouse Leather is a forty-year-old tannery with its own 25-acre production campus, purpose-built for consistent, high-volume supply. Our facility produces more than 8 million square feet of vegetable-tanned goat and sheep leather each year, without losing the control over quality, delivery, and fashion relevance that a boutique tannery offers.

Every hide passes through our own effluent treatment plant and a stage-three reverse osmosis system before anything leaves the property — because "urban tanner" is a responsibility we take literally.

Our chrome-free tannage follows a systematic, authentic method along the entire life cycle of the leather, using biochemicals derived from renewable raw ingredients wherever synthetic chemistry would otherwise be required.
